Word To clear up any confusion, Senior Youth riders must be 13 to 16 years of age as of January 1st. Please see the Rules Members and RatingsMember Rating System CATPA uses a committee structure to rate our riders. Annually a Chairperson is appointed along with 4 other penners. CATPA has also developed a computer based program that assists the committee in tracking what they individually see of rider skills. CTCPA also has guidelines on what constitutes a certain number and the National Rider Rater meets with Chairs and Committees to review that process. The committee may target a select few who appear to be achieving a higher skill level or are new penners and watch those riders closely for the remainder of the season. The name of individuals whose number is recommended to change by the committee, up or down is the discussed with our National Rider Rater and finalized. The CTCPA has final say on all numbering across Canada. The system we use allows all penners to go to co- sanctioned events, other associations shows, National Finals, Zender Fall Classic, Manitoba Event in Brandon and compete on an even playing field. Rider rating is not an exact science and we all have opinions but somebody has to have the final say and the above process I think works very well. I would recommend anyone who has questions about rating or especially their number approach our Rating Chair for 2008, Trevor Marcinek at a convenient time to discuss their questions or ideas. . Please note that these ratings are the 2008 unofficial ratings. To see the official CTCPA Rating, please go to Ratings on the CTCPA website. If your number changed, it is in Red Ratings effective January 1st, 2008
